how long does it take to boot up?

I'm getting real annoyed with the fact it takes about 5 mins on my computer..

how many programs are set to automatically open upon reboot

change the setting of those programs that pop up in your systray

we can better help you if you go to Start > Run and type in msconfig ... go to the startup tab... tells us whats under the startup items column

Be careful with this kid... you may stop something from starting up that is vital to making you machine run...

My suggestion, save anything you want to keep file wise on a blank CD or if you need to store it for a day on something I have some server space...

And then reformat and start over and dont download a lot of crap...

If you don't want to do that find a start up manager or I can look for one for you...

But nothing will work like reformatting...

I stopped a lot of shit on the startup list. That helped a lot. Thanks for the idea.

Get rid of programs that you don't need or use also.
Go to control panel, browse everything listed under currently installed programs, if you don't need it, uninstall them.
